Dear Parents and Guardians,

At our last School Committee meeting, the school district presented a draft plan for returning to school in the fall which included a Full Remote Option and a Hybrid Option. In the Full Remote Option students would receive their education virtually through both synchronous (live) and asynchronous (recorded or independent) learning 5 days a week. In the Hybrid Option PK-8 Students would be assigned to one of two cohorts that will be in person either Monday and Tuesday OR Thursday and Friday and attend school the other days remotely with Wednesday being a half day. In the Hybrid Option High School students will be assigned to one of two cohorts that will attend school in person every other day and attend remotely on the alternate day. Please see the graphic below regarding the Hybrid Schedule.The hours of the school day have yet to be confirmed for either model.

Face Coverings will be required to be worn by all students PK-12 unless they have a doctor's note documenting a medical or disability exemption.

Given these two models we are asking parents to make a choice for each of their children that attend the Stoneham Public Schools. Ideally we are asking you to make a choice for your child for the entire school year to ensure continuity of instruction. You should be aware that if you request to move your child from the Full Remote model to the Hybrid model during the year there may be a delay of 3 to 4 weeks as we will need to plan carefully to ensure that we are able to comply with state and local guidelines.

If you child is a special education student and meets certain state eligibility requirements your child may be able to attend school daily. More information will be provided if you indicate below that your child has an IEP.

We are asking you to complete ONE survey for each child in your household that attends the Stoneham Public Schools.  We will be sending out a separate survey for parents of preschool students.
