The COVID-19 infection rate in Oneida County continues to increase and Districts throughout our region have been designation in yellow zones. Schools in “yellow zones” must test 20 percent of in-person students and staff in each building over a two-week period in order to remain open and provide in-person instruction.
In order to determine if the District can meet the testing requirements necessary to remain open to in-person instruction, we need to know how many students/staff members are willing to voluntarily get tested. The failure to test 20 percent of our in-person population would require the district to convert to 100 percent remote instruction until the “yellow zone” designation is lifted.
