SHS Saturday "Grade Recovery" Intervention Program Term 2
Dear SHS Students & Families,
 
Saugus High School is happy to announce that our SHS Saturday "Grade Recovery" Intervention Program will be continuing! The goal of this program is to provide extended time instruction (Saturday mornings 8 AM to 12 PM (noon), to help struggling students find success in English, Math, Science, or Social Studies. Depending on the earned grade, students are able to earn a 55 or 65 in the assigned subject area for term 2 (does not impact MIAA eligibility) to get back on track to pass the course for the year.

Initial Term Grade Range to New Term Grade Upon Successful Completion (80% Mastery)
40-64  to  65
0-39    to  55
 
Eligibility: Any SHS student who scored a 64 or below in their English, Math,  Science, or Social Studies class term 2.
 
Duration: 6 Weeks - 3 hours per Saturday (8 AM - 11 AM or 9 AM - 12 PM)
Students are required to attend at least 4 out of 6 sessions and will be removed at their 3rd missed session. Students must earn a passing grade of 80 in the online program in order for their term 2 grade to be changed to a 55 or 65.* VERY IMPORTANT: Even if students attend 4 sessions, they must continue to attend if they have not completed 12 working hours of the program & earned an 80%!
