BamaRep Commitment Contract
This is the official contract that must be completed by each student and one (1) parent or guardian before the new season begins. Failure to complete this contract can result in termination from the Team.

Section 1) Attendance and Commitment
A) Students are expected to attend all classes throughout the entire season, August-April.
B) Students are ONLY allowed to miss class for certain situations, such as sickness, emergencies, and school related activities.
C) Students are required to arrive on time and to be leave the building on time. Loitering in the parking lot is not encouraged.
D) Students are not allowed to leave class early without a justified reason.
E) Students that miss class are required to get caught up with the rest of the team on their own. It is not the Director's responsibility to get the student caught up.
F) Students and Parents are required to give notification of any absences or late arrivals prior to class.

Section 2: Participation in Outside Activities/Teams.
A) Students are encouraged to participate in outside productions, activities, classes and events.
B) Students are NOT encouraged to participate in any outside productions, activities, classes or events that would dramatically interfere with class times and/or performances.
C) No student may participate in any other Musical Theatre or theatre related performance competition/festival group/troupe outside of Bama Rep, other than school related activities. 
D) No student may participate in any outside sports teams/recreational activities that may conflict with the ELITE schedule, unless otherwise discussed with the Director prior to auditions.
E) If a student works or is employed, the student is expected to work out their schedule so that their job does not interfere with class times or performances.

Section 3: Tuition and Other Expenses
A) ELITE Students are required to pay the current set costs for the 8-Month Season. (Unless the student is receiving the "Sibling Discount or if the student has received an Elite Scholarship.) This includes tuition and registration fees.
B) Monthly Tuition Payments are due the first Thursday of every month. 
C) Tuition, Registration Fees, Workshop Fees, Headshot Fees,  and other merchandise payments are non-refundable.
D) Festival Fees, Trips and other such payments are refundable only if the parent/student can find a replacement to take possession over said fees.
E) If student/parent is behind in payments, the student may not be eligible to participate in upcoming performances or activities.

Section 4: No Tolerance Demerit System
A) Students and Parents are expected to adhere to the No Tolerance System for attendance and behavior.
B) Students are allotted 5 demerits per quarter (every 9 weeks). After the 5th demerit is given, students will then be placed on probation and parents/guardians will be notified. Depending on the severity of the situation, the student may not be eligible for participation in an upcoming event. If student receives an additional reprimand while on probation, the student will be terminated from the Troupe.
C) Students can and will receive demerits for the following reasons:
     1) Failure to send notification prior to a missed event/workshop. (1 demerit)
     2) Failure to attend class for an unacceptable reason. (1 demerit)
     3) Inappropriate behavior in class including, but not limited to, disruption, aggression, ill-tempered, vulgar language, bullying, uncooperative, and repeatedly not following the dress code. (1 verbal warning, then 1 demerit)

Section 5: Dress Code
A) Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times during classes/workshops and performance events when not in costume.
B) Shoes: Students must wear their jazz shoes, other dance shoes, tennis shoes, or no-slip socks. No heals, sandals, flipflops, open toe shoes, or bare feet.
C) Clothing: Students must wear appropriate clothing that they can freely move in for dance and staging. No dresses, skirts, tight jeans, loose jackets, or anything else that would prevent the student from participating fully in classes.
D) Accessories: Students may wear accessories that do not prohibit them from rehearsing such as glasses needed for vision, watches, and stud earrings. Examples of non-approved accessories include loose jewelry, light-up/flashing clothing, scarves, hats, and sunglasses.
E) Hair must be worn out of the face in a secure fashion that will not continue to fall during class.
F) Designated costumes or apparel must be worn for all performances and special events.
G) For festivals and other professional events, students must keep a professional appearance at all times. Unnatural hair color, facial jewelry, multiple earrings, tattoos, etc. will not be allowed.  
H) No student may enter the classroom in offensive apparel. This includes gang wear, graphic tees with violent content, slang, vulgarity, curse words, etc.
I) Students must also be dressed in a modest manner. Students that reveal too much of the skin will be asked to cover up.
J) Students will be asked to change at any time if the Director deems necessary.

Section 6: General Class Interruptions
A) Parents/Guardians are not allowed inside the classroom during normal class times. It distracts from the creative process and encourages disruption from the student.
B) Friends, additional family members (siblings, cousins), and special guests are not allowed in the classroom during rehearsal time. If a student brings someone with them and it has not been approved by the Director, the guest will be asked to sit outside of the classroom without supervision.
C) Students are not allowed to have a personal cell phone on them during class time. All cell phones will be surrendered at class start time. Students will be able to use their phone during breaks and after class.
D) If a student needs to have their phone available to them due to emergencies, the Director must have written notice prior to class start time.
E) Students are not allowed to bring electronic devices for entertainment purposes, such as laptops, mp3 players, gaming devices, etc. Laptops are only allowed for homework related purposes.
F) Students may bring books and other non-noise making devices to class as long as it does not disrupt class.
G) If the student brings any other item that could be a disruption, the Director has the right to remove the item from the student as needed.
H) Food is only allowed to be brought to class if the student can finish it before class, after class, or during designated breaks. Water is always encouraged. *Some classes/events, sugary drinks will not be allowed into the classroom.

Section 7: Self-Termination
A) In the event that a student must self-terminate from the Troupe, only the following types of reasons will allow the student to return to BamaRep for future productions or seasons.
     1) Serious Illness (Student or immediate family)
     2) Extended family travel
     3) Moving out of town/state.
     4) School related
     5) Work related (Student or Parent)
     6) Religious reasons
B) If Festival/Troupe fees have already been paid, students will not be given a refund.
C) Unpaid fees are still expected to be paid unless the student can find a replacement to take over possession of fees.

Section 8: Slander and Misrepresentation
A) Students are expected to present themselves in an upstanding fashion. If a student's personal life is interfering with their performance or behavior on the troupe, it can result in termination.
B) Students and Parents are prohibited to slander, speak negatively, or post inappropriate/negative/derogatory statements on social media that could misrepresent or reflect poorly on ELITE, Alabama Repertory Theatre (BamaRep), or the Directors/Staff/Team/Volunteers in any way.  
C) Being a member of the troupe means representing Alabama Repertory Theatre, thus students will also be responsible for setting a good example for future potential students. Misrepresenting the troupe and/or program can result in termination upon the Director's discretion.

Throughout the season, students may have their photo taken during classes, festivals, events, etc. These photos may be used for advertisement and on our social media accounts. Do you agree to allow your child's photo to be taken and used on social media?
