Expanding Child Care Capacity Project Pre-Application
Thank you for showing interest in the Expanding Child Care Capacity Project opportunity presented by the Quad County Childcare Coalition and the Northeast Michigan Child Care Coalition! We are excited to offer assistance to child care business owners during their licensing process to either start or expand their current business. This project will gather valuable information regarding the barriers, cost and time constraints encountered during the pre-licensure process.

*The efforts of this grant is to INCREASE CAPACITY (increase child care slots), which is our top priority with this opportunity. 

1. Pre-Applications must be submitted electronically only via this Google Form. Please contact program coordinator with additional questions.

2. NEMCOG and QCCC may require additional information at any time during the application process. 

3. This is a research project. While working through the licensing process, applicants will be required to report to the NEMCCC and/or QCCC any feedback or data requested regarding pre-licensure. This project is a joint effort to 1) gather valuable information about the pre-licensure process, and 2) increase child care capacity in our region. 

4. Eligibility of activities will be project-specific and determined on a case-by-case basis. Eligible activities under this project may include, but are not limited to: 
     -Application fees/Permit fees
     -Facility safety updates 
     -Fire inspection 
     -Educational materials for use by children
     -Equipment

5.   -For existing child care businesses with up to 6 child capacity: Total funding of up to $6,000 or $1,000 per child care seat to increase licensed capacity to 12 children.
