NEHS MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
Application for FVHS National English Honor Society membership. Please read the following before you begin your application:

For this Application:
1. You need one recommendation. This should be from a former High School English teacher. Simply ask a teacher to send a short recommendation to fvhsnehs@gmail.com. Additional Instructions linked on the website under "Teacher Recommendation Info".
2. Turn in the completed form and email teacher recommendation to fvhsnehs@gmail.com by October 11th.
3. If you are accepted into NEHS, you will be notified by October 18th by email only.
4. You will be asked to pay your one-time membership fee of $20 by the second meeting. If paying these dues is a financial hardship, please email Mr. Pogoloff at apogoloff@wcpss.net . (For now, membership fees are suspended.)
Qualifications for membership
1. To be accepted, you must have maintained an A or B in ALL English classes and English electives; have at least a 3.4 GPA overall (not QPA); and have good behavior in all classes (no Unsatisfactory or Needs Improvement on your report cards), with no honor code violations or discipline actions (some tardies are okay, though excessive tardies are not).
2. You will be required to complete four service hours per year.
3. If you remain in good standing each year, you will be able to wear the NEHS honor cords at your graduation ceremony.
4. After you pay your $20 membership fee, which includes national dues to make you an official member, you will not have to pay dues again. (For now, membership fees are suspended.)
5. If you do not attend meetings or complete the required service hours, you will be dropped from the membership of the National English Honor Society.
