ASIG is looking to update the Framework for Access Services Librarianship with the goal of being able to utilize this document as an advocacy tool that is more intentional about showcasing the intellectual and emotional labor behind all areas of Access Services. Some ways we might do this is to make more explicit connections between Access Services and other areas of librarianship. For example, making the connection between instructional design or teaching methods and using those skills to train employees at the circulation desk. We might also consider implementing more DEI into the Framework to emphasize its importance in library policies, services, spaces, and much more. What are ways we can update the Framework to use it as a communication tool directed at library deans and administration to exhibit the value and importance Access Services brings to a library?
