Applications are due Sunday, February 2nd, 2020 by 11:59pm.  Please note you cannot be an IME Peer Educator at the same time as a Resident Advisor or Student Life Intern due to work study restrictions, but you are still encouraged to apply to all of the above. Notifications of hiring for this position will occur after RA and Intern notifications.
Position Description
- Design and facilitate workshops as part of the “IME Wokeshop” series, focused on equity, diversity, identity, and anti-oppression, which occur every other week
- Attend weekly staff meetings, trainings, and 1:1s with your supervisor (IME Assistant Director)
- Attend training on August 26-29, 2020 for staff and Great Expectations Mentors
-Offer support to mentors throughout the entire academic year
- Coordinate Great Expectations social and education programs on a monthly basis to create community amongst the first year mentees
- Attend and actively participate in the Great Expectations Retreat on September 12-13, 2020, including helping with recruitment, coordination, and logistics prior to the retreat
- Collaborate on projects and major IME events with the IME Director, IME Assistant Director, IME Student Life Intern, IME Graduate Assistant, and additional staff or partners
- Serve as an ambassador for college initiatives pertaining to diversity and inclusion, including upholding all College policies

Qualifications
- Experience with issues of diversity, social justice, inclusion, and/or ethnic or cultural studies (could be academic and/or co-curricular)
- Demonstrated student involvement and student leadership experience (such as clubs, committees, symposia, service, etc.)
- Experience with facilitating or desire to facilitate dialogues, workshops, or conversations with small or large groups
- Work-study required
- Must be available for the entire 2020-2021 school year
- Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Previous involvement in the Great Expectations Peer Mentorship Program (either as a mentor or mentee)

Time Commitment
- Devote 8-10 hours per week to the position
- Weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor and staff meetings
- Must be available for training on August 26-29, 2020 and the Great Expectations retreat September 12-13, 2020
