Are you a young person in New York City ready to organize for fundamental feminist change? Then join the Young New Yorker’s for Equal Rights Convening on March 30th from 11 am to 4 pm.

This upcoming election, New York has the opportunity to enshrine sex equality and reproductive justice in our state constitution. That’s right, New Yorkers will vote to accept or reject the adoption of a state-level ERA this November. From the criminalization of abortion to the criminalization of trans youth, the need for state-level ERAs are clear. Young people need comprehensive, permanent protections to defend our freedoms for decades and centuries to come. The kind of protection only a constitutional amendment can provide. So, we must get organized to ensure the majority of New Yorkers, especially our peers, vote YES on the ERA.

On Saturday, March 30th, from 11 am to 4 pm, the Young Feminist Party is anchoring a space to facilitate community-building, skills-training, and collective strategizing to support young people across New York City in organizing for the New York State Equal Rights Amendment. This convening is held in partnership with Columbia Law School’s ERA Project, New Yorkers for Equal Rights, the Feminist Front, and young people-led gender justice organizations across the city. We aim to facilitate a cross-campus, cross-city coalition of youth organizations working together to advance gender justice.
