College visits are on a sign-up basis this year. Please note the max number of students for each trip. Students are invited to attend any and all colleges they have an interest in seeing, as well as those they may not be familiar with so that they can learn about those institutions and possibly expand their options for college.
Please note departure times and make sure your students are at school 30 minutes prior to departure so that they do not miss their bus. Due to strict time constraints with colleges and universities, buses are not able to wait for late students for any reason. Also, please be aware that we will be returning late on specified days. Any student who does not attend a visit is expected to be in attendance at school where they will be in classes with other seniors who are not on the trip.
Students should dress for the weather and make sure to bring an umbrella and comfortable walking shoes, as tours will take place rain or shine. Even if (and especially when) the temperatures are high, there is air conditioning on the charter buses so have your student bring a jacket/sweater/hoodie. Students may dress down but should remember that they are representing MC² STEM High School and that their attire and behavior must reflect the high standard we have set for all of them. All trips are free of charge and breakfast and lunch will be provided for students, as well as an afternoon snack on days when we return late. Students may bring additional snacks and beverages with them. Students are also encouraged to bring money as they will have many opportunities to purchase food, snacks, and college "swag." We are unable to provide dinner on the nights when students will arrive back to school in the evening so students are reminded once again to pack appropriately.
Finally, while we know that many students have internships and summer jobs that are still in session, we hope that they will make arrangements to at least participate in the visits to the schools that they are interested in. Feel free to email me or call if you have any questions.
