Program Offerings

Moonshot Museum is excited to offer on-site fieldtrips for student groups. We have several different programs available and are excited to help build the best experience for your students!

Currently we offer programming for up to 30 total students. Grades 1-5 will enjoy our 1-hour field trip: From the Earth to the Moon, and students in grades 6-12 are invited for a 90-minute program: Cosmic Careers.

Story time programs for early learners, virtual programs, and custom programs to accommodate home school and cyber school groups are also available.

Due to the unique size and scope of Moonshot Museum, our space is ideal for customized fieldtrips!

Individual classrooms and smaller groups can plan for up to 30 students and up to 6 chaperones.

Grade 1: 1 adult per 5 students
Grades 2–12: 1 adult per 10 students

Lunches

Due to the capacity of our museum space we are unable to offer on-site lunch opportunities for group visits.

Fieldtrip groups are encouraged to coordinate lunch plans at secondary fieldtrip locations nearby such as the Carnegie Science Center and Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, or, consider a picnic lunch in Allegheny Commons Park.

Several restaurants are available within walking distance for smaller group visits.

Please note, outside food and drink are not permitted inside Moonshot Museum. Novelty snacks are available in our gift shop upon leaving the museum.

Scheduling Your Visit

Due to the size of our museum, field trip groups are scheduled when our museum is closed to the public. This will ensure a private and fully immersive experience for students.

Fieldtrips can be scheduled during the following times:

Mondays: CLOSED

Tuesdays: 10am - 4pm

Wednesdays: 10am - 4pm

Thursdays: 9am-11am

Fridays: 9am-11am

Limited evening and weekend programming can be arranged - additional fees may apply
