About Emerson's "Where's Waldo" School Directory
We update this every year. For KINDERGARTEN and NEW families: please sign up to be included in Where's Waldo. This is an OPT-IN directory, meaning we only include contact information you give us if you choose to be included. For RETURNING FAMILIES: Please also sign up if you have changes in contact information. Where's Waldo is located here online. A print version will be sent home this fall.
Where’s Waldo is our Directory (online/print) for Emerson families only. Check here and we will upload your contact information for you. 
Image/Photo OPT-OUT: we share updates via our BearFacts online newsletter, and create videos of our events. All students are included but parents/guardians can opt out here and anytime during the year.
PTA Membership:     Please join the PTA at the beginning of the school year! Just by joining the PTA you are helping! Participation is not only volunteering  time or giving resources, PTA membership gives you a voice in Association meetings for programming and budgeting. The suggested  (but not required) membership fee of $10 per person goes to paying the Emerson PTA dues to the Berkeley PTA Council, the Peralta District PTA and the California PTA.
Grade Parent:      Are you a teacher’s helper? Do you want to connect all the families in your child’s classroom? Then YOU are the Grade Parent we need! Formerly known as Room Parents, the Grade Parent role is about classroom and grade community building and serves as a direct connection between the PTA and the classroom/grade families while also supporting classroom teachers. Grade parents serve as connective tissue between the PTA and classroom/grade families and are classroom/grade leads for classroom/grade events and activities. They also can help recruit volunteers from their community for other events and activities.

Volunteering at Emerson

Do you seek the big picture of public education and BUSD? Consider the School Site Council and representing Emerson. Look for elections updates in August, and nominate yourself!

Do you want to directly support and lead Emerson community culture and programs? Join the PTA Board! We are seeking Chairs for Fundraising, Communications, Advocacy. Reach out to our President Rana Cho at: rana@emersonelementary.org

Maybe you prefer the classroom, helping teachers and students. BSV or Berkeley School Volunteers is for YOU.
