the General Relief Fund is meant to supplement member needs that may not fall under the category of journalistic work or network/professional development: rent, groceries, utilities, etc.
our members are hardworking, talented journalists and media workers, yes -- but they're also humans with material needs, and we want to support those needs as well.

we're aiming to distribute general relief funds in microgrants of up to $200; we have a minimum of 5 grants to disburse, but if folks request smaller amounts we'll be able to disburse more. if you have any questions on this, don't hesitate to reach out!
