Hell: An Investigation
In this course, we'll be exploring the concept of hell in the Bible—what it looks like throughout the Old and New Testaments, what it may have meant to Jesus and his early followers, and how that squares with dominant beliefs about hell in the Christian Church today. We'll lean into scholarship on scripture, Jewish history, ancient mythologies, first century Roman politics, and more. Ultimately, our investigation will examine less-circulated ideas about Hell, the kingdom of God, and what the Jesus story is all about.

Although this study will be hosted by Open Table United Church of Christ, you don't have to be a member of the church to participate. Neither do you have to subscribe to a particular religious belief to join. Whether your curiosity is intellectually or theologically-motivated, you're invited to be a part of the discussion.

If you ARE interested in participating, you can help me prepare for this study by taking the following survey.
