Help Haiti Drive
Thank you so much for being interested in volunteering for the Haiti Relief Drive on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021.

As you may know, Haiti was struck with an earthquake the magnitude of 7.2 at 8:30 am on Saturday, August 14th of this year. The quake severely damaged several cities, burying people in the rubble of collapsed buildings. It was more powerful than the 2010 quake, which killed more than 220,000 people.

Sadly, tropical storm Grace followed suit the following Monday, leaving survivors under heavy rainwater, which rose to floods. Thousands are left with no access to clean water, food, and shelter, amongst other essentials. Haiti needs our help now!

We have partnered with Sapoara Bar and Grill to conduct a relief drive to collect emergency supplies to ship to the island. With over a decade of experience in NGO logistics management with Lumos, a foundation dedicated to safeguarding children in Haiti, our contact person will receive our supplies once they arrive and distribute them directly to survivors on Flaman and the surrounding areas of Cavallion.

For two days, Wednesday 8/25 and Thursday 8/26, we will be collecting donations at Sapoara and transporting them via U-Haul to a storage facility where they will be sorted and packed in barrels.

Once again, thank you for lending a helping hand. As a first-generation Haitian American, my heart aches for my mother’s country. Yet, I am so delighted and grateful to my brothers and sisters from all communities for being a light during this time of darkness and despair.

Warmest Regards,
Marcelle
