Two Group sessions are offered for intermediate learners. One in the fall and the other in the winter.
Group classes are offered in-person. Space is limited to six students per group. Participants will continue to learn about the Doctor and the Patient: First exchange/Building relationships with a patient; the physical examination: Body and illnesses; Explaining a treatment or procedure: Medical Terminology/Useful phrases and vocabulary and learn about effective communications and Cultural nuances in the Spanish Language.
General Course Info:
- Course taught in English and Spanish with focus on building Spanish skills at a higher level. Therefore, Spanish will be used more than English.
- Role play scenarios to practice vocabulary.
- Reading and writing, listening and speaking task based activities.
- Video and voice recordings are provided as well as online access to useful resources for independent practice.
- The goal is to bring awareness to our learners about the mechanics of Spanish conversation and key cultural aspects of it in the health setting.
