Othering in Gender and Sexuality
We gather over three in-conversations, beginning 10 November, to engage in intimate and open dialogue, and raise questions on expected ways of behaving, representing, as well as belonging to a community as well as society. Each conversation identifies a specific knotty issue on othering that heightens the complexities of identities where society’s sexual and gender labels do not apply.

Talk #3:
Wednesday, 5 January, 8pm:
Coming Out with Alan Seah, Prashant Somosundram, Yensuthantharasenan and Zuby Eusofe

We end the series of talks with 'Coming Out' – a layered and complex decision to acknowledging self, finding community and affirming identity. Join our speakers as they initiate the sharing of diverse, intergenerational ‘coming-out’ journeys, and in the process, invite you to share your journeys, too.

The talk is held over Zoom. Please fill in this form to register for one or all of the conversations. You will receive an email from T:>Works with the Zoom link two days before the event.

"Othering in Gender and Sexuality" is part of the larger The Swimming Pool Library, a performance and exhibition created by Brian Gothong-Tan for his artistic atelier with T:>Works. The Swimming Pool Library opens with a performance from 28 - 31 October, and ends with a full-scale exhibition on 6 January 2022. Bridging the performance with the exhibition is the conversations on "Othering in Gender and Sexuality" with invited speakers,  artists and advocates from the LGBTQ+ communities.
