Sangster 5th and 6th Grade Band and Strings 23-24 Registration Form
Dear Parents and Guardians of 5th and 6th Graders:

Welcome to the 2023 - 2024 school year!

Your student has the opportunity to begin or continue instruction on a Band or Strings instrument this year.  All 5th and 6th grade students are welcome to join Band or Strings, regardless of their familiarity or experience playing a musical instrument.

Here is some important information about the Band/Strings Programs at Sangster:

*Our students perform throughout the year. We provide extra-curricular activities such as Solo and Ensemble Festival, Strings Extravaganza, and Area Band and Orchestra.
*No prior musical experience is necessary.
*Workbooks and music are provided by the school.
*Students must provide their own instruments. Musical instruments can be rented from a local music store or from the school, when available. Rental prices for most instruments is approximately $20/month at the music stores. Saxophones, cellos, and basses are more expensive. FCPS provides instruments at a reduced fee for students who are eligible for free or reduced priced lunch. Please wait for your student to be fitted to an instrument and for us to send home information on exactly what supplies/instrument to get for class.
