By registering for the Rebel Reads Read-a-thon, you are pledging to set a reading goal for the months of December 2021/January 2022 on behalf of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa (EFSO) - a feminist, abolitionist, Ottawa-based organization supporting criminalized women and gender-diverse people.

You are also promising to tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbours, well-wishers, and casual acquaintances, that you are going to be reading  on behalf of EFSO - and you would love for them to sponsor you for this. This can be a single donation, or this can be per day, per hour, per book etc. It depends on your goal and how they want to donate!

To participate:
1) Use this form to sign-up so the organizers know who to reach out to at the end of the event.

2) Download the pledge tracking form on the Read-a-thon website. You use this to record who is sponsoring you and for how much. It also has a link to more information about EFSO so you can tell your sponsors about the organization and what we do.

3) READ! Keep track of your reading and share it with everyone - let them know what you're reading, and why you're reading by email, social media, phone calls, and in person (safely), and ask them to pledge money in support of your goal.

4) Have those fantastic people who are willing and able to donate let you know how much they are going to donate and when they will be making that donation (i.e., right away or after the Read-a-thon)

5) Provide sponsors with this link - https://efryottawa.com/donatenow/ - so they know where to donate. Have them put in the message box: "This donation is for [your name]'s read-a-thon fundraiser" when they donate before January 31st, 2022. (Donations over $25 are eligible for a tax receipt)

On January 31st, we'll tally the numbers and announce the prize winners. During January's Rebel Reads meeting, we'll take a moment to celebrate for those who want to join!
