Thank you for applying to be an SFS Leader in Training!
Here is a brief description of the camps that you may be supporting this summer:
smallworldwow (PS4/Kindergarten or 1st-3rd Grade)Using art, cooking, story, music, dance, and games to connect with the traditions of the world, smallworldwow focuses on the multicultural joy that comes with being a little citizen of the world. By introducing campers to new cultures each week, we empower every camper to be conscious and confident, breaking barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding. The first two sessions are active and there will be lots of fieldtrips.
Spraycation with SF Skate Club (3rd-6th Grade)Skateboarding and street art go together like eggs and bacon …..Use our streets as your canvas - learn to express and develop your unique style through skateboarding and making street art.
Campers will experience the exhilarating feeling of flying over cement on a skateboard. Expert skate instructors will help push the camper’s abilities on a skateboard forward while having fun and building friendships. The SFS green top will be transformed into a skatepark with ramps, rails, boxes (that we design and make ourselves!), and other fun features so that campers can learn everything from the fundamentals of skating to more advanced skills and tricks. Campers will also dive deep into the world of street art and be able to create their own work!
Basketball FUNdamentals (1st-3rd or 3rd-5th Grade)Campers will get comfortable on the court while improving basic motor skills such as jumping, running, and sliding. For the older kids, basketball FUNdamental will offer a chance to apply the skills they’ve learned in situational play, scrimmages, and timed games.
Riveroplis Maker Camp: Land of the Tree People (3rd-6th Grade)This summer, each young architects will design and construct a unique contribution to Land of the Tree People world! Creating this other world natural theme for 2023 suggests a wide range of creative options from animals, parks, agricultural displays, futuristic inventions, and more . . . all this with a real 35-foot water river running right through it!
