What is Unite us and bring us together?
It will be the first official Hybrid International Laboratory of Cardboardia starting online with a series of virtual meetings in June, continuing all summer and finishing at the end of September with a 10 day on-site workshop in Bournemouth.
The Grand Finale will be 2nd October with The Cardboardia Olympic Parade and Play Games at Arts by the Sea festival!
We want to collect the most strange, silly, lovely, unexpected, important, clever, real and fake, ancient and modern games from all over the world and share and play them all together!
YOU CAN BE INVOLVED IN DIFFERENT WAYS:
DURING THE SUMMER
join our online meetings and discussions to get new ideas (and share your own) for games and events in public spaces;
JOIN OUR ONLINE WORKSHOPS
and get new tools to work with cardboard and other recycled materials to make props, masks and decorations for your local event;
IF YOU ARE FROM BOURNEMOUTH OR NEARBY, YOU CAN JOIN BOTH OUR ONLINE AND ONSITE WORKSHOPS
to create ideas and make objects to be really ready for the Parade in 2022 !
JOIN OUR ON-SITE WORKSHOPS AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER IN BOURNEMOUTH
and meet each other and Citizens of Cardboardia at the Old Fire station venue (TBC).
N THE END YOU WILL
(INDIVIDUALLY OR TOGETHER):
Know a lot of new games;
Get life hacks on how to make stuff from easy to get materials and how to find these materials;
Get new techniques for making decorations from cardboard;
Get new tools on how organise local event in your neighbourhood;
Join a big community parade and events in Bournemouth;
Make new friends and inspiration and connections for future projects!
WHAT YOU WILL GET FROM PARTICIPATION
Participants get a variety of sometimes unexpected tasks
and an opportunity to try themselves in a real project.
For experienced professionals, the Laboratory will be an experimental platform, a way to implement creative ideas and find new solutions.
For beginners it's an opportunity to make the first steps.
You will be judged by what you do right now, not by your diploma and portfolio.
The education of the applicants is of interest to us, but does not play a role in the selection of participants.
The degree of participation depends solely on personal desire, ability, and diligence, but we expect full involvement in the work of the Lab.
