BUILDING RESILIENCE 5 WEEK COURSE for the HURUNUI  the course of our time!   This special fully funded course is for those living in the Hurunui, thanks to an AIA Vitality community grant that we have been awarded.

The Community Mindfulness Project: A collaboration with Mindfulness North Canterbury,  Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust and Logan Smythe and Associates to bring free science-based mindfulness and wellbeing courses, workshops and podcasts to North Canterbury, made possible by AIA Vitality.


Building Resilience 5 Week Course: Hurunui

5 consecutive Monday nights
Starting 22nd Feb 2021
22nd Feb,1st March, 8th March, 15th March, 22nd March 2021

6.15 to 7.35 pm
Glenmark Pavillion, Waipara domain, Cnr of Church road and Glenmark drive, Waipara.

Kate Brandram-Adams:         Reg mental health nurse and reg mindfulness teacher
Kate is a Hurunui local with a passion for providing evidence and science based courses and workshops that support community wellbeing and resilience, right here in her beloved North Canterbury.
With 27 years as a mental health clinician and extensive group facilitation experience she provides a safe and professional environment for people to learn and explore.

BUILDING RESILIENCE 5 WEEK COURSE : the course of our time!
Rewire your brain to be more resilient
This 5 week course is bursting with cool neuroscience and practical tools that actually make lasting changes to your brain and life.
80 minute sessions with practices to take away to rewire your brain.
Based on the work of Dr Rick Hanson’s positive neuroplasticity training and much much more.

Resilient people make resilient communities: be part of making your community resilient in these uncertain and challenging times.

Some of the themes covered will include:
Mindfulness: the power and pleasure of being present
Working with the puppy mind/ ruminating mind
Re balancing the negativity bias surviving to thriving
Making good experiences stick and become part of us.
Connecting with and cultivating joy, kindness and compassion
Treating ourselves with kindness ( as a friend) when things are difficult
Building connection for resilience


Course includes:

5 weeks of 80 minute classes

Specifically tailored recorded guided practices to use at home

Weekly digital resources to keep (rather than a paper coursebook).


Classes are held in safe space with confidentiality.
The course is skills based training not therapy.
