The two major parties serve the interests of the ruling class. Working people need an alternative.
That’s why Rhode Island DSA advocates for a working-class socialist party: an organization that rejects war and imperialism, and instead fights for healthcare, housing, and dignity for workers in R.I. As one step toward this goal, we want to elect independent socialists who are fully accountable to RI DSA’s membership and the working class — not to corporations or corrupt political leaders — and who actively fight for our platform.
We’re developing the infrastructure to run and win independent campaigns in 2026. But for us, a party is about more than just elections. We want a democratic, people-powered organization that’s active in the labor movement and working-class communities. Our party-building work includes workplace organizing, fighting for pro-worker policies like Medicare for All, political education, and more.
