Dear Teachers and CMIT-S MS&HS Members,
We hope you're enjoying a successful start to the 23-24 academic year!
At CMIT South MS/HS, we're excited to offer a range of enriching extracurricular activities. We're reaching out to extend a special invitation to you to become a coach or sponsor for one of our STEM clubs this year.
Our clubs will initially meet once a week after school, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. As we approach the Regional Competitions in the Spring, we'll increase the number of club meetings per week.
We're looking forward to having you as a valuable part of our STEM clubs. Here's what we expect from our coaches, along with the support they'll receive from CMIT-S MS&HS:
Coaches will:
Participate in in-person meetings on weekdays and/or weekends.
Create a pacing guide for students participating in the competition.
Provide tutoring in building, engineering, and coding.
Assist students in enhancing their research and presentation skills.
Guide students in preparing project portfolios and engineering books.
Coordinate material acquisition and submit purchase order requests through the STEM Coordinator when necessary.
Arrange demo/trial competitions as needed.
Maintain open communication with students, parents, and the coordinator regarding students' progress.
Participate and travel to regional and state-national (if qualified) robotics tournaments with the team.
STEM after-school clubs at Each School:
Compensation:
Rate: $45 per hour under a contract with CLF.
Maximum Compensation: Up to 5 hours weekdays and 5 hours at the weekend. Competition day is exceptional.
Duties will start in the second week of school academic year and conclude in June depending on team advancement.
