2023 Lower Rouge River Industrial Paddle Trip

IF YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR OWN DOUBLE HULLED KAYAK, YOU MAY STILL REGISTER.

Sign up for the Friends of the Rouge Industrial Paddle Trip on Saturday, September 16, from 9:30am - 12:30pm. We will meet at John Kessey Fieldhouse in Melvindale and paddle downstream to Belanger Park in River Rouge on the Detroit River. Livery services will be provided. The cost fro canoe or kayak rental is $40. A double hulled kayak is recommended for this trip. There is a $10 shuttle service fee.

Paddling Tips
The trip will take 1.5 - 2hrs. All participants are required to wear a personal floatation deceive. It is also recommended that paddlers bring a change of clothes, just in case you take an unexpected dip. Lastly, we recommend that you bring a dry bag to store electronic devices or snacks.
