Persons nominating Freetown’s Man and Woman of the Year (“Nominators”), as well as the Nominee themselves, must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and currently residing in Freetown, MA.
Nominators may submit nominations for more than one person.
Because every Nominee may not want public recognition, Nominators must secure their Nominee’s permission to submit their names.
Nominators and Nominees grant the Town of Freetown and the Freetown Parade and Fireworks Committee the use of their names and likenesses for publicity without further compensation unless prohibited by law.
Nominations must be received by May 31, 2024. One (1) Man and one (1) Woman will be selected from all eligible nominations by the Freetown Parade and Fireworks Committee. If a selected nominee cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or chooses not to participate, an alternative nominee will be selected. No purchase is required for entry or participation.
The selected Nominees will be asked to participate in, and be recognized at, Freetown’s annual 4th of July Parade to be held at 10AM on July 4, 2024. The selected Nominees will be awarded with a commemorative plaque or trophy, and will be transported in the parade on a float provided by the Freetown Parade and Fireworks Committee. Participation in the parade is strictly voluntary, however it is requested and strongly encouraged.
By participating in the contest and parade, all parties agree to release the Town of Freetown, the Freetown Parade and Fireworks Committee, affiliates, employees, officers, and agents from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained by participation in the contest and parade.
Members of the Freetown Parade and Fireworks Committee may make nominations but may not be nominated.
The Freetown Parade and Fireworks Committee reserves the right to change or terminate this contest at any time without notice.
By nominating and/or being nominated, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules, and acknowledge that all decisions made by the Freetown Parade and Fireworks Committee are final.
