This group is a mixed ability Intermediate level group. Students work towards developing their inversion practice, a fundamental aspect of yoga and are developing a deeper understanding of Pranayama. Students are encouraged to develop a home practice and we discuss the challenges of developing that practice and support each other. Some students will go on to deepen their study of Yoga and start the mentoring process towards becoming an Iyengar Yoga teacher.
Working together, this group will support a more in-depth practice and
start to build a home practice around the classes. Students will have the
opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the basic foundations of Asana
and how that builds towards the exploration of more complex Asanas. You
will become familiar with the names and meanings of the postures and how we
actually build a posture into an Asana; a seat for the consciousness.
If you are interested in working towards sharing
your Iyengar Yoga practice with others, you will need to attend this class for
two years regularly to be considered for mentoring towards teaching.
Getting together with friends to practice is always encouraged and
supported. Please ask for details.
