The Sanctuary Arts Initiative (SAI) of Metro Baptist Church has existed since 2011 to provide a haven for local and community artists through collaborative partnership, accessible space, and community building. Metro Baptist Church affirms the talents of individuals in the congregation and wider New York community and has long partnered with artists to effect social change through the wider mission of Metro Baptist Church (MBC) and Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries (RMM).

Thanks to a generous donor, MBC has established the Sanctuary Arts Grant fund to assist individual artists connected to MBC & RMM who have been financially impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.  Purposes for the use of grant funds may include, but are not limited to: housing costs, utilities, food, transportation needs, and/or health insurance premiums. Consideration will be given to all requests up to $1,000.
