Gen22 is a Commonwealth Games Legacy Project, which aims to support young people to gain work experience opportunities in arts and sports.
Solihull CEP have bid to establish a series of one week incubator projects which will see young people (16-24) work with artists and companies on intensive projects designed to mimic the pressures and opportunities of careers in the creative and cultural industries.
Participants will be given the opportunity to join an incubator in one of five subjects:
- Theatre
- Music
- Film
- Visual Arts
- TV
What is an incubator?
In short, it is an intensive work experience opportunity, which is designed to mimic the pressures and opportunities of real careers in the creative and cultural industries.
Person Specification
- 16-24 years old
- Lives, studies or works in Solihull
- Passion and interest in the arts and developing a career in the arts and cultural sector
- Committed, reliable and organised.
- As part of this programme, we are keen to maximise engagement from a diverse range of backgrounds, including NEETS, young people at risk of offending and those from lower socio-economic groups.
All young people who have been referred to us are guaranteed to be invited for an interview.
Interview dates are:
Thursday 23rd May & Thursday 6th June
Taking place at The Core Theatre, Solihull (B91 3RG), 5:30 - 7:30pm.
