Celebrate International Development Week (February 5th to 11th, 2023) with CFUW by viewing the acclaimed 2019 documentary Woman!
"Woman, co-directed by Ukrainian-born director and journalist Anastasia Mikova and French photographer and environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand, is a magnificent, touching documentary that is both funny and sad. Woman has a rather simple premise: women from around the world and from all walks of life talk about what, for them, it means to be a woman.
The documentary is part of Woman, a worldwide project giving a voice to 2,000 females across 50 different countries. The women talk straight to the camera and in first person. The stories are broken up and grouped into loose topics that deal with so many facets of human existence: motherhood, relationships, birth, death, rape, war, love, marriage, education, financial independence, kindness and joy."

About International Development Week
"The aim of
International Development Week (IDW) is to draw attention to international
development and shine a spotlight on the important contributions that Canadians
are making through partnerships around the world. IDW features hundreds of
activities across the country and abroad, and celebrates Canadian contributions
to eradicating poverty and building a more peaceful, inclusive and prosperous
world.
A unique Canadian tradition since 1991, IDW is held
annually during the first full week of February. This year #IDW2023 will take
place from February 5 to 11.
IDW 2023 aims to inform, inspire and involve Canadians in
Canada’s international development efforts. The unifying theme of Go
for the goals represents a call to action for Canadians to support the
achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals."

How to View
CFUW has the rights for up to 100 views of the film over three days (February 5-7). Once you register, you will be added to a list of recipients who will receive a viewing link to view the film at any time in that three day period. This has been organized to accommodate different time zones and the feature length of this film (1h48 min). Feel free to organize with friends and your CFUW club to view the film together. Your use is tied to your IP address, so can be accessed only from one device, but if you are having problems, you can try the link again in a different web browser and it will still only count as one view.
You will receive the link early on February 5th for your viewing pleasure!
We have been working with the team behind Woman to ensure that the viewing system is easy to use. If you are having trouble, please email Paige Inglis at advocacy@cfuw-fcfdu.ca.
