Te Pūtaketanga - Purpose 

This opportunity has been coordinated to support whānau of Te Tauihu Iwi to learn more about He Whakaputanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, within the safety of your own home, and with our own people.  

 Priority for attendance is to those whānau with whakapapa to Te Tauihu, wanting to learn more about Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The korero will accommodate all ranges of age, knowledge and experience.  

The Kaiwhakahaere we have approached bring complimentary skills and experience - we are grateful for the time they have gifted to this kaupapa, and as such ask that you respect  the following principles:  

• “Kia ū ki te aroha me te whakapono”: We want this opportunity to be guided by patience, respect and a willingness to ask questions.  

• Each Kaiwhakahaere will take a different approach to this challenge, and we are committed to ideas that don't elevate one voice, one experience, and one way of being in the world.   

• Being a contributing member to this kaupapa requires the courage to admit that any knowledge could and should be open to respectful challenge.
