Service Hours for Parents and Students
We appreciate all our families do for our school and parish community. The Service Hour requirement helps us involve and rely on all families, whether for fundraising, party help, planning and running fun events, and marketing, as well as day to day needs of the school. Sometimes we find only a few of the same families help each time, on top of their regular jobs, and work very hard to make this a wonderful place for all of our families. We are trying to relieve that burden because it is easier when we all pitch in.

Each family is asked to do 25 service hours for the first student and five additional for each additional student during the whole year from July to July. We are not having a buyout option at this time. We trust each family to try to meet the goal with the understanding that each family has different circumstances. This can involve lunch/recess help, bringing items needed or helping with classroom parties, being a room parent, helping on field trips, coaching, helping set up for events, clean up after events, man concession stands at games, helping PSA with events, helping with fundraising, or many other things.  Some volunteering can be done at home, organizing or calling for auction items, or passing out flyers in your neighborhood to advertise our school, or emailing parents in your class with information for PSA. Putting a yard sign in your yard counts for two service hours. Anyone who helps at church as a greeter, lector, eucharistic minister, or alter server or in the school or adult choirs earn service hours. There are so many ways to help.

To help us keep track of all that parents do, please complete this form each time you do something to volunteer in any way. Example: everyone who dropped off mulch or helped spread mulch this summer earned a volunteer hour for each bag of mulch and four for spreading mulch. Parents are a team and do NOT each have to do the required number of hours. Students who help out at home, with grandparents, neighbors, or at school or church should also let their teachers know what they have done.

Please know: we value each family and parent in our school and appreciate all you do to send your children to Catholic School. Thank you for helping us in any way you can.
