Upward Scholars is looking for conversation-only partners to help students practice and improve their English conversation skills in a more casual, friendly virtual or in person setting.

Fluent English-speaking partners are expected to meet with their students on a weekly basis virtually or in person, participate in a minimum of one 45-60 minute session or three 15-20 minute sessions a week, provide help with English vocabulary, and gently correct English grammar and pronunciation errors. Participation in this program is voluntary, but we recommend commitment through the end of the summer session or semester if possible.

Most conversation-only sessions take place via video conferencing or video chat (e.g., GoogleMeet, Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp). Please be sure to have access to video chat to start your conversation sessions. You are welcome to choose an in-person session instead if this is what you prefer.
