La Dolce Vita: LDV is our annual gala and fundraiser, and 100% of the proceeds go directly to our children and teachers. LDV is a sit down dinner, silent and live auction event with dancing to follow. We need volunteers in these categories. Corporate Sponsorship + Donations, Marketing, Teacher experiences, Class projects for silent auction, Data entry (Auction catalog), Volunteer Coordinator, General support/party planning.

Annual Fund: We're looking for an Annual Fund Chair and a single volunteer from each class to help us with this year's Annual Fund committee. In order to keep our tuition cost as low as possible, we only cover 90% of our budget through tuition fees and the rest we make up through the Annual Fund. Most important of all is that we reach 100% participation. As an Annual Fund committee member you will be the ambassador for your class to encourage giving until 100% participation is reached in your class.

Graduation: Mission Graduation Chair & Committee Members: It is tradition that 7th grade parents fill these roles. You will volunteer on the day of graduation to ensure it moves smoothly. You will also help plan and coordinate the school graduation reception/party for the 8th graders and their families. Dogpatch Graduation Chair & Committee Members: It is tradition that Grandi or Young Grandissimi (not rising to K) parents fill these roles. You will volunteer on the day of graduation to ensure it moves smoothly.

Yearbook: The yearbook committee is responsible for putting together the yearbook for the school year. The committee will coordinate the content and design of the yearbook as well as handle the ordering and distribution with a deadline of ensuring all yearbooks are delivered by the last day of spring semester.

Italian Heritage Parade: Coordinate La Scuola’s presence in the 2022 San Francisco Italian Heritage parade! Rent and decorate a trolley or create the float of your dreams! We need people to help coordinate and decorate and publicize as well as families to ride on the float. To be on this committee you must be available on Sunday, October 9th, the day of the Parade.

Admissions: Help the La Scuola admissions team! This committee will do everything from helping admissions with tours and information sessions by giving parent testimonials to placing school flyers and postcards on neighborhood notice boards, markets, coffee shops, etc. to drive interest in applying to the school.

December Holiday Party: Do you love holiday treats and decorations and all things festive and fun?! This event planning committee is for you! You will be in charge of the planning and coordination of the December Holiday Party from event concept to set up to clean up. All La Scuola families are invited.

Music: Members of this committee will support concerts and events. You will help with day-of concert logistics (moving equipment to/from), and be a resource as needed for smaller events and projects. December 14th - Concert at La Scuola (early concert, start help ~12 noon). May 31st - Concert at Herbst - big day! Help transport instruments to/from event).

Library: Volunteer as librarian during class visits to check in/out and guide use during library time. Also, partner with or serve as a parent reader. Re-shelve and spot check shelving organization (approx 5 available parents). Volunteer in tasks related to collections & database management (approx 5 available parents).

Teacher Appreciation: We love our teachers! This committee is focused on all things teacher appreciation. From Holiday Gifts to Teacher Appreciation week in May, this committee will coordinate it all. Think smoothie bar or espresso bar for the teachers during Teacher Appreciation week, handwritten thank you notes, pastries in the teachers’ lounge, stock the fridge, etc.

Carnevale: This committee will help both campuses plan for and celebrate Carnevale. Traditionally the children dress up in costume and create masks or participate in other crafts.

Fiera: Fiera is La Scuola's final event of the year! We need chairs and volunteers to plan this event and coordinate activities, food, merchandise, set up/clean up, bartending, and music. In 2022 this event was held at the soccer fields in mission bay and it was a blast!

SPEAK: SPEAK is the organization of volunteers from 16 different SF/North Bay independent schools. The group sources speakers on topics we think are important to our school communities. We are looking for 2 representatives from La Scuola. You will coordinate with La Scuola staff to get SPEAK events on the calendar & market events to our community in the Bolletino, Konstella, and IG; attend SPEAK events & volunteer at events when possible; and work on small committees to source speakers.

Merchandise: Shop La Scuola! Would you like to help with the online mercato? Do you have ideas on new swag/designs and are you willing to help with order distribution on campus? This committee is for you!
