Honoring Local Heroes Banner Program
PURPOSE & DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM
As part of the Honoring Local Heroes Banner Program, Experience Mount Vernon in
partnership with Knox County Veterans Services and the City of Mount Vernon
presents the Veterans Day Banner Program. Honoring current and former service
members of the United States Armed Forces, the Veterans Day Banner Program will
allow community members to dedicate a banner hung on a light pole, lining Main
Street and West High Street in Mount Vernon, to an individual who currently resides
or has previously resided in Knox County.
Each 30” x 61” banner will be double sided, full-color and custom designed with
their name, branch of service, dates of service, and photo (if provided).
Banner
locations shall be determined solely by Experience Mount Vernon. The cost to
purchase a banner is $150. The banner will remain in place for the time allotted for
its specific program. Once banners are removed, you will receive an email notifying
you to pick up your banner. Banners not picked up will be disposed of.
Space is limited and banner applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served
basis.
Neither Experience Mount Vernon, Knox County Veterans Services or the City of Mount Vernon are responsible for
replacing banners that are stolen, damaged or destroyed due to age, vandalism or any acts of nature including high
winds. Any loss or damage to an installed banner will be handled at the discretion of Experience Mount Vernon.
