OUR FATHER CRAFT: You are the son or daughter of a great King. God is that great King. Jesus wanted you to know this. Over and over throughout his life he reminded us that we are children of God. The disciples often saw Jesus go off to a quiet place to pray. They were curious about prayer, and they asked him to teach them how to pray (Matthew 6:9–13). Jesus taught them to say the "Our Father" or the "Lord's Prayer." Each morning when you wake up, start your day by praying the Our Father. Each night before you go to sleep, end your day by praying the Our Father. This short prayer takes a mere 15-20 seconds to say, yet it is filled with incredible meaning. If ever there was a prayer that summarized our faith and what’s expressed in the Gospels, the Our Father is that prayer. In your "Lesson Activity Bag" you will find an "Our Father" packet that includes a copy of the prayer, two worksheets and a color your own prayer stand so you can display the prayer on your dresser or desk to help you remember to say and to memorize the "Our Father." Your packet also includes "Our Father" sequencing cards which you can use to help you memorize the prayer - just follow the instructions on the packet.
