Role:

Your responsibility as GDI Instructor (or TA) is first and foremost to create an empowering workshop experience. Be professional and prepared. Also remember that learning isn’t just about receiving information or completing an exercise. Students want to be inspired.

Our virtual classes are held at various levels (from never coded before -to- advanced courses) and run as either single courses or multi-day cohort courses.  

Curriculum:

GDI has built a robust curriculum library and we will work with you to provide access to the best and most impactful curriculum.  To get a sense of our curriculum please visit our materials page on our website. (https://girldevelopit.com/materials/).  From time-to-time we ask our instructors to work with us to develop new classes.

Training:

We provide onboarding for all of our instructors through our handbook, personal mentoring and monthly onboarding workshops.  We highly recommend that all of our instructors attend one of our classes as a Teaching Assistant before they lead a class on their own.

Compensation:

Instructors are compensated for their time at a flat rate of  $40/ hour for each instructional hour, plus an additional hour or prep time for each class (longer classes include 2 hours or paid prep).  TA's are volunteer roles at this time.
