Telling Your Research Story
Please join us from 1-3 pm PDT on Tuesday, May 7.
(Virtual Workshop.  Zoom link will be sent to registrants closer to workshop date.)

Looking for ways to encapsulate what you do in a way that brings new audiences into the story of your research?  A well-communicated research story can inspire young people to pursue science careers, convince potential funders and even attract new collaborators.  This session will provide examples of recent research stories translated for different audiences to illustrate how to identify the vital elements of your story, structure them logically and develop compelling entry points to capture your audience from the get-go.

The workshop leaders are Mario Aguilera, award-winning science journalist and UC San Diego Director of Communications for Biological Sciences, and Sherry Seethaler, author of Beyond the Sage on the Stage: Communicating Science and Contemporary Issues Effectively and Director of Education Initiatives for Physical Sciences.

This workshop is presented by the UC San Diego Research Communications Program https://researchcommunications.ucsd.edu, which is funded by a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.  It is open to CZ Biohub Affiliates, all in the UC San Diego campus community, and our other partners.
