The Fold mentor application

The Fold is an ambitious one-year initiative aiming to foster a community of underrepresented groups in the technology sector. It’s about encouragement, support, and collective success. As part of this journey, we're seeking mentors who can guide, inspire, and support our cohort of 15 tech ambassadors. Your expertise, patience, and passion can make a significant difference in their learning journey.


Program Details:
Cohort Size: 15 tech ambassadors
Duration: One year, with an estimated time commitment of no more than 4 hours per month. While this is the time commitment we expect, mentors are always welcome to attend our monthly meetings and get more involved.
Activities: The program involves hands-on tech learning, teaching opportunities, monthly meet-ups, and a very special opening weekend retreat.  As the year progresses, your mentees will be reaching out to you for both structured and unstructured conversations.  

Opening Weekend: The spectacular kick-off retreat will be held from October 13 - 15, 2023, from  6p on Friday to 3p on Sunday.  It will be held at Valaterra, a beautiful retreat house in Oldham County set amidst nature. It's a time for bonding, team-building, tech training, and setting the tone for the months ahead.  We have limited sleeping spaces that we have reserved for participants, but we encourage you to come on Saturday during the day to meet your mentee, if possible.

Kickoff Weekend at Valaterra: From October 13-15, be enveloped in the serenity of Valaterra, a beautiful retreat space in Oldham County. The participants will be meeting their fellow AI ambassadors for the first time and diving deep into bonding, training, tech training, mentorship, and envisioning the future alongside TECH-Nique's board members and you, our mentors. Engage in tech conversations, nature exploration, and sumptuous dining amidst an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared purpose. This starts at 5p on Friday, October 13 and ends at 3p on Sunday, October 15. We welcome our mentors to join us on Saturday, October 14.  Will you be able to come to Valaterra on Saturday, October 14, from 10a - 2p?  We will be there all day, so even if you can't come to the structured time listed, please feel free to stop by to meet the ambassadors.
