Please briefly describe why you are interested in joining (or staying on) BayCAN's Steering Committee?  I believe that listening, sharing resources, and collaboration are critical keys to effective planning and to drive the action needed to serve the public health and safety of our communities.  We are stronger at meeting challenges when we understand each other and work together.  I bring extensive experience in strategic planning, community and regional planning and policy.  My career includes roles and experience at varied scales and settings from rural, underserved communities, agricultural industry, suburban cities, CBO's, county government, regional collaborations, and statewide advocacy.  These roles include former City Planning Commissioner and manager of Southern Sonoma County Resource Conservation District (serving North Bay watersheds of Petaluma River & Sonoma Creek), Project Manager for Sonoma Water's numerous climate resiliency efforts including Storm Water Resource Plans, CAP, flood management and wildfire resiliency planning and tools, Director of Legislation & Policy Development for the North Coast Resource Partnership, and consultant to organic agriculture.   I also serve on ARCCA's Executive Committee where I enjoy the support and camaraderie of fellow collaboratives statewide and advise on policy to serve our communities.
