All new programmers are required to complete the training program which consists of an online course, 3 training sessions and an optional orientation. These sessions are modular, meaning that they can be taken in any order.
Station Orientation * OPTIONAL *
Get to know the history station, how it operates and the ways you can get involved. This is a great way to find out where your best fit at Co-op Radio will be. If you are familiar with the station, or are already working with a program, this session may not be necessary.
Policy and Regulations (ONLINE COURSE)
The basics of your responsibilities as a programmer: the laws and policies that govern you as a broadcaster at Co-op Radio.
Fundraising and Community Engagement (ONLINE COURSE)
The skills you need to help you meet your fundraising requirements to the station: donor types, strategies for fundraising, how to pitch on-air and in-person. We also look at how to use social media to connect with your audience.
Production Skills * OPTIONAL *
The basics of recording and editing sound effectively with Audacity.
Operator Training
Learn how to use the broadcast board and the equipment in the control rooms and studio.
