Kessel Runners Fitness XT - Yoga Basics

Come enjoy relaxing and learning some yoga with Kristen Lassiter and YogaPod.

YogaPod will have some mats for us to use, but please bring your own if you have one. (Your first mat rental is free.)
Bring a water bottle, comfortable clothes you can move in, and an open mind. There are also showers at the studio so if anyone needs to use those.

About the Class:
podBASICS provides tools and techniques necessary to build a safe and sustainable yoga practice and offers an opportunity for beginners to create a solid foundation. Class moves at a slow pace, allowing students time to explore alignment and fundamental aspects of the postures. Instruction and demonstration of proper body mechanics are provided as well as how to utilize props for support.

About the Instructor:
Kristen is an E-RYT 500, primarily teaching Vinyasa yoga since 2009 and was initially attracted to this discipline due to connection of breath with movement of the body. Her strengths as an instructor include being able to teach clarity of asanas (poses) with in any size class, offering different modifications/intensifications for different levels of practitioners, and educating students on postural alignment with an intention to never make yoga appear intimidating. She places emphasis on making an individual's yoga practice one's own and encourages students to take their practice to a level in which they feel safe, yet challenged.
