FIELD TRIP OVERVIEW
During this 1-hour field trip at the historic Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch at Santa Teresa County Park, students will learn about the area's past inhabitants including the Muwekma Ohlone, Californio ranchers, and Bernal family.  Students will explore early California life at the ranch through activities and a visit to the historical house.. The field trip curriculum aligns with History-Social Science standards for grades K/1.


Tips:
 - If you want to schedule more than one class, you MUST complete a separate request form for each class.
  • -We can accommodate one class (up to 30 students) per field trip.
  •  All field trips begin promptly at 9:30 and 11:15 am.
  • Classes should arrive by 9:15 am/11:00 am if they plan to visit the restrooms or have a snack before the field trip starts.
  • Classes are welcome to stay in the park for lunch.
  • We require a minimum ratio of 1 adult (teacher or chaperone) for every 8 students. (10 adults max)
  • Adults will help facilitate educational activities and ensure group safety at all times.
  • Park staff will email a booking confirmation letter once your field trip is approved.
  • If none of your preferred dates are available, we will contact you to discuss alternatives.
  • Park staff will contact you a few days before your field trip to confirm final details.

  This program takes place primarily outdoors along paths that might be muddy or uneven. Knowing in advance if anyone in your group will require accommodation for mobility, visual, aural, cognitive, non-English speaking, and other special needs or accommodations,  will allow us to make any needed arrangements to best support your students.
