2021 Conneaut Summer Recess Program
The Conneaut Recreation Board is excited to announce that Summer Recess is making it’s return for the Summer of 2021!! We hope that you are just as excited as we are! As we are coming off a year of many many changes, Summer Recess did not escape unchanged! The Conneaut Board of Recreation has worked hard behind the scenes to develop a safe program for the kiddos! A few of the changes are listed below.

- Mr. Kennedy has turned over the position of Summer Recess Coordinator over to Mr. Erik Hodges. Mr. Hodges has been a part of the Conneaut Area School District for the past three years and currently serves as the High School Spanish Teacher. Mr. Hodges is also very involved with our athletic programs and currently is an assistant coach for football, baseball and girl’s basketball.

- Camp will run Monday – Thursday beginning July 5, 2021- July 29, 2021 from 8:30am-12:00pm

- To assist in social distancing the program will operate on a 9:1 ratio. Children will be placed in a group of 9 children and be assigned to a staff member for the duration of the program. Activities will be run similar to the structure of a summer camp and each group will participate in activities at different times. Children will not be allowed to leave prior to 12:00 unless picked up by a parent.

- Your child MUST be registered by June 23, 2021 for participation in the summer recess program. Due to changes in the program structure and need for additional staff we will not be able to accommodate children if they show up without being registered for the program.

- Per Conneaut Area City Schools requirements masks WILL be required if the child enters the building for any reason, including to use the bathroom.

- All activities will be held outdoors this year, therefore if it is raining Summer Recess will be canceled for the day.

Summer Recess is ONLY open to students entering grades 3rd- 8th  enrolled in Conneaut Area City Schools or who are residents of the City of Conneaut.
