The Vancouver Island Sommelier Association (VISA) is proud to offer one $1500 Industry Professional Scholarship, sponsored by
Vessel Liquor Store, to the Island's wine community.
Eligibility:
- Applicant must be 19 years of age or older.
- Applicant must live on Vancouver Island.
- Applicant must work in hospitality on Vancouver Island.
- Applicant must have worked in hospitality for a minimum of three years.
- Applicant must use scholarship for a professional level wine education course (ex WSET 3 or higher, WSG (excluding prep), ISG Advanced or higher, CMS Certified or higher, etc) by April 4, 2025.
Application Process:
- Fill out the following form.
- Email a resume or CV, 750-word essay, AND two reference letters to visascholarshipapplications@gmail.com.
- Your essay should let us know what this scholarship means to you, what you plan to use the scholarship for, and how it will help advance your career in the Vancouver Island hospitality industry. Your essay should be double-spaced.
- Reference letters must come from members of the hospitality industry. No references from family members.
- Application deadline has been extended to midnight on March 31, 2024.
- The successful applicant will be chosen by a committee of VISA members, based on dedication, commitment, professional goals, and financial need.
- The successful applicant will be notified on April 4, 2024.
- Scholarship funds will be disbursed to the school.
