Student Advisory Group for the Environment (SAGE) Application
Penn's Student Advisory Group for the Environment (SAGE) was formed in the fall of 2017 to allow undergraduate and graduate students to provide feedback on Penn’s Climate Action Plan 2.0, launched in 2014, and progress to-date on these CAP 2.0 goals. This feedback also served as input for the next 5-year campus sustainability plan, the Climate and Sustainability Action Plan 3.0 (CSAP 3.0), which launched in the fall of 2019. SAGE now serves as a body by which students can participate in implementing the goals and strategies of the CSAP 3.0. In addition to SAGE’s advisory role, the group also communicates and promotes environmentally-focused resources and serves to increase transparency between the student body and administration regarding environmental sustainability initiatives.

SAGE currently includes representation from the Undergraduate Assembly (UA), the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GAPSA), Climate Leaders @ Penn, the Student Sustainability Association at Penn (SSAP), the Penn Sustainability Office, and at-large student membership. SAGE provides a platform for students to take a leadership role in fostering collaboration between students and administration to developing a greener campus. The group is open to all interested and passionate students that want to provide input and feedback on a range of related topics. We welcome students that are both new to the sustainability conversation on campus and those that are heavily involved in multiple groups with an environmental focus.

Meetings happen bi-weekly and are scheduled based on members' availabilities.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Feel free to contact Natalie Walker (walkerna@upenn.edu) or Elizabeth Main (emain@upenn.edu) from Penn's sustainability team with questions.
