Join in by foot, bike, wagon, vintage/specialty car, float or any
creative method of your choice for the annual July 4th Pied Piper Parade. Prizes will be awarded for best decorated bikes
and floats.
Parade line-up begins at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Decatur located at 308 Clairemont Ave. Walkers should line-up in the parking lot or lawn on the north side of the church. Vehicles should pull into the parking deck on the south side of the church for line up in the vehicle section.
The Pied Piper Parade is intended for anyone who wishes to participate. Children and adults can ride bikes, skate, decorate wagons, etc. and walk in the parade. In addition, neighborhoods, civic organizations, and politicians may put vehicles and/or floats in the parade.
The parade begins promptly at 6 p.m., winds its way to the square for the presentation of colors and the Star Spangled Banner. The parade route is approximately one mile long. It turns right out of the church parking lot, left onto Commerce Drive, right onto Church Street, right onto E. Ponce de Leon Avenue, left onto Commerce Drive, left onto W. Trinity Place, ending at N. McDonough Street.
