The American String Teachers Association (ASTA) has received two generous donations to support full-ride scholarships for Georgia-based African-American college students studying to become string educators. The intent is to support students who have not been active with ASTA in the past, and introduce them to the ASTA community for their professional development and support throughout the rest of their career. Preference will be given to candidates who are first generation college students, and/or candidates who would otherwise not be able to afford to participate in ASTA offerings.
Each scholarship includes:
1. Conference registration to attend the March 17-19 2022 ASTA National In-person Conference at the Hyatt Regency, Atlanta, GA. Registration also includes full access to the virtual conference the week following.
2. Registration for one of the pre-conference options on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 16.
3. Three hotel nights at $189/night at the Hyatt Regency.
4. One-year student membership in ASTA
5. $100 to the recipient to cover meals, parking or other incidentals during their conference experience.
