Surrender Application
We are a small, volunteer run organization. We are not able to accommodate same or next day intakes.

It could take up to a week to respond to your application. From there we may require a behaviour assessment and time to secure appropriate foster homes. We are not a shelter – all of our dogs are placed in foster homes so choosing the right one is incredibly important.

When you surrender your dog to ABR you will be signing over ownership of your dog and will be required to provide all vet records and a medical record release authorization. We provide redacted records to the adoptive family.

We are a non profit organization, as such we encourage all our surrendering parties to make a donation to help cover the costs of fostering, medical care and training sessions. We understand that this is not an option for all families.  We also appreciate your donating any of your dog's comfort items like kennels, beds, leashes.... basically anything that will help lessen the stress as they transition to their new environment. Any item you donate will remain with the dog.

If the need to rehome your dog is urgent please complete this form and then send a quick email to surrender@albertabulldogrescue.com to let us know that it is urgent.
