Learning the essential skills of working in a team through performing and playing in a band!
Monday 12th April and Tuesday 13th April 2021

- This workshop is suited to ALL INSTRUMENTS.
- (Experience required) Attendees must be able to play some basic chords/melodies/songs confidently.
- Attendee's can attend one day or both days, but it is recommended to attend both days to get the most out of working within your groups.
- This is an evening workshop, held afterhours in our Fairy Meadow shop. Attendee's should be an age comfortable participating in activities during the evening.

Time Table - 6pm - 9pm (prompt start, please arrive early!)

MONDAY 12TH APRIL
6pm-6:45pm
- Which band or group inspires you? Why ?
- Mind mapping techniques to stay in time with others
- Discussing confidence within a group
30min Break - Light Dinner
7:15pm - 8:00pm
- Choosing and breaking down a songs parts - Tempo and Feel
15min Break
8:15 - 9:00pm
- Encouraging communication and ideas to make playing together easy
- Playing song section and reviewing the group

TUESDAY 13th APRIL
6pm-6:45pm
-  Rhythm exercise with clapping and exploring time signatures"
-  Passing around rhythms to each other
30min Break - Light Dinner
7:15pm - 8:00pm
- Creating motifs and melodies then building on them with each instrument (learning keys)
- Exploring other chosen song sections and rehearse
15min Break
8:15 - 9:00pm
- Tricks to great band communication and chart reading
- Perform and review

Included:
- Expert Teacher, Jackie Quintanilla AND Nathan Edwards
- Fresh light dinner - Sandwich, snack and drink. We will provide you with a pre-order form upon locking in your spot.

Please remember that due to limited space, payment must be received in advance to lock in your booking.

Should you attend a workshop, we recommend you:
- Bring a water bottle
- Wear comfortable clothing - you will likely get warm, but a light jumper or jacket is recommended for air conditioned spaces
- Wear comfortable, closed toed footwear

COVID Safety:
Should you exhibit any COVID symptoms and/or are required to isolate, missing your workshop day, we can either credit your payment towards future HMS lessons or to the store for shop credit. Please notify us immediately if this is the case.
